Course Overview
BIM 2019 is jointly offered by the American University of Beirut (AUB), Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) and Institut Curie (Paris-France) in collaboration with Centre Leon Berard (Lyon-France), the Lebanese Society of Radiology, Gynecology, Surgery, Oncology, Pathology and Radiotherapy.
This congress will feature comprehensive lectures going from basic breast imaging courses with a practical approach dedicated to junior breast imagers, general radiologists and general practitioners, to more advanced courses discussing the newest imaging techniques and current guidelines with multidisciplinary approach designed for breast imaging radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiologic technologists, and other physicians and health care providers dedicated to breast care. Clinical trials running in Lebanon will be presented, and a special place will be dedicated to the junior radiologists to present their research work in the field of breast imaging.
Conference Objectives
- Review of dedicated breast courses BIRADS focused on ‘Mass’ in Mammography (MG), ultrasound (US),and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Define screening controversies and address the current state of breast cancer screening in Lebanon and worldwide
- Present the newest advances in imaging, genetics, surgery, oncology and pathology
- Develop coordinated breast cancer care with a multidisciplinary approach to optimize patient outcomes
- Acquire skills in DBT interpretation and performance of ultrasound guided biopsies
