President’s Welcome
The new diagnostic techniques in pathology and the introduction of targeted therapies and immunotherapy have prompted scientists around the world to review the different classifications of cancers. International consensus meetings under the auspices of World Health Organization (WHO) regularly publish new classifications of tumors based not only on the histological findings but also on associated genetic anomalies and the response to new treatments. The 2016 WHO classification of tumors of the urinary system has been recently published. We are honored to welcome Dr. Philippe Camparo, Uro-Pathologist based in Amiens, who has to his credit several works and publications in prestigious journals. Dr. Camparo will discuss this new classification and share with us the principles of immunotherapy. To highlight the importance of consultation and anatomoclinical cooperation, we are honored to have with us Pr. Roland Van Velthoven, Chief Urologist at the Institute of Jules Bordet in Brussels, who has generously agreed to present the latest surgical advances in the treatment of kidney and bladder tumors.
