  • abc Oncology Educational Courses 2014
    Description:   The 2014 “abc in oncology educational course” was conducted in 3 sessions. Sessions were conducted over half days and gathered  more than 50 participants each. 24 distinguished speakers animated the discussion and shared their expertise in the field, making every session a scientific hit. The topic focused mainly on multidisciplinary approaches, new modalities of diagnosis, updated disease treatment and side effect management. Diagnostic imaging, targeted therapies, surgical approaches and tailored management were the hottest topics discussed in all sessions.

  • CASPRO: Campagne de Sensibilisation sur le Cancer de la Prostate                                 
         Date: 25 November 2014 - Venue: HDF - USJ
         Description: On the occasion of the Prostate Cancer month, the department of Hematology Oncology
          in collaboration with the department of Urology, Radiation therapy and Family Medicine
          at the Hotel Dieu de France and with the participation of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of
          Saint Joseph, held a press conference to educate and raise a public awareness about prostate cancer
          which is the most diagnosed cancer for men above 50 years old. During this event, the Hotel Dieu
          de France hospital  has set up on November 25 a screening checkpoint for those who are
          willing to get checked up for prostate disease.

         ''Latest Updates in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine''          
          Date: 29-30 May 2014 - Venue: Faculty of Sciences Lebanese University - Fanar
          Description: Stem cell and regenerative medicine are currently hot subjects of research
             in today’s life sciences and provide so many promising options for the future treatment of some
             major diseases. STEMS 2 was an excellent opportunity for scientists, experts and clinicians to
            discover the latest experimental approaches and future directions in stem cell research
            as well as to discuss new data and  ideas.

         Description:   This conference gathered clinical dietitians and physicians, dietetic and
         medical students, as well as nurses and allied health professionals interested in nutrition and
         dietetics to provide them with practical knowledge to be applied at the workplace in areas such as
         cardiology, oncology and gastroenterology As for the preconference workshop, it aims to equip
         dietitians with needed skills to manage the different types of diabetes through the workshop interactive
         case studies.

        ''Specialised Nutrition Support Practice and Evidence''

         Description: This Conference gathered a multidisciplinary audience (dietitians, physicians,

National Triglyceride Awareness Campaign         
​        Description: This campaign was conducted during 2013 & 2014 covering several 
         Lebanese areas in the aim to increase general public, healthcare professionals and key
         stakeholders' awareness on elevated TG as a major public health concern. It covered 
         also prevention & treatment of high Triglyceride level as well as the adequate health
         behaviors needed for its management. ​

          Description:   Oncology nurses are on the front line of care for cancer patients. They must be
           continually  updated on the latest advances in treatment and ongoing training is a prerequisite to meet
           the daily challenges brought by the diversity and complexity of cancer patient care.          
         The Cancer Research Group (CRG) had committed to aid in nurses education throughout a tailored
           intensive cancer course. It focuses on the unique challenges that oncology nurses face in providing
           optimal care for their patients.
