The 2nd Scientific Congress of the Lebanese Food, Drug and Chemicals Administration is an annual event organized by the Lebanese Food, Drug and Chemical Administration (LFDCA).
The LFDCA is established since June 2016 in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Lebanese University in affiliation with the Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Dental Medicine. It aims with the support of the Ministry of Public Health to ensure Food, Drug and Chemicals quality and safety.
The food committee provides reliable bacterial analysis of food and water products through the latest analytical materials, technical equipment and an efficient and experienced technical staff. It works in accordance with the requirements of international and internationally accepted quality standards based on risk management thinking to ensure the quality and safety of food and water efficiently and professionally covering the following areas: pastries, bakeries, dairy products, processed foods, municipalities and schools.
The water laboratory conducts physiochemical and bacteriological analysis of water samples in order to determine the quality of drinking water, irrigation water, industrial water, borewell and sewage water using the latest equipments and techniques. The laboratory also aims to serve the community by publishing results of scientific researches on food and water pollution.
The drug committee and laboratory will monitor medications, biopharmaceuticals, herbal and cosmetic products locally manufactured or imported. They aim to ensure conformity with international quality and efficiency standards, international drug constitutions specifications, WHO codes and national standards.
This year the congress entitled ''Pollution, Quality of Health, Reality and Perspectives Researches and Field Studies'' will be held on April 16th, 2019 at the Lebanese University, Rafic Hariri Campus, Hadath gathering a multidisciplinary audience including medical doctors, pharmacists, biologists, students and representatives of several ministries, institutions and universities.
